Recently, we went to San Antonio to see some friends and on the way we stopped for a snack of one of my favorite things -- PIE!
E had heard about Texas Pie Company and we just knew that it would be good since it has a large pie on the outside of the building. To me that is a symbol of amazing pie, well not so much!
They have either whole pies or small individual pies, so we each picked a pie to try. I picked pumpkin and E picked strawberry rubarb.
The filling to the pumpkin pie had good flavor but the crust was dry and not flakey at all. I wasn't impressed with my pie at all and E's pie didn't look good at all. He said that the strawberry rubarb was okay but nothing special.
We were very disappointed, especially since we had heard/read good things about this pie shop. Maybe we should try it another time just to see if it was an off day.
