My Fave Holiday Treats

Growing up one of my favorite things was to help making cookies, candy, cakes, and quick breads to give to neighbors and family friends. We would make large trays filled with wonderful goodies and it was a great family activity and I know that everyone that received a goodie tray really enjoyed each item on there.

Here are just a few of the treats that we would make for our goodie trays.


Tiger Butter
1 pound almond bark
1/2 cup peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
1/2 cup chocolate chipes (milk or semi sweet)

Melt almond bark & peanut butter together. Spread mixture on foil lined cookie sheet.
Melt chocolate chips. Drizzle chocolate over pb mixture. Swirl chocolate. Chill and then break into pieces.


Kraft Marshmallow Creame Fudge
3 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 can evaporated milk (5oz)
1 1/2 pkgs chocolate chips (1/2 milk choc; 1/2 semi-sweet choc)
1 jar Kraft Marshmallow Creme (7oz)
1 t vanilla
1 cup pecans, chopped

Heat sugar, butter & evaporated milk to afull rolling boil on medium heat, stirring constantly.
Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, stie in chocolate chips until melted.
Stir in marshmallow creme until melted; stir in vanilla & pecans. Spread into pan. Cool at room temperature at least 4 hours. Cut into squares. Store in air tight container.

Makes approx. 3 lbs


Peppermint Bark
1 pound almond bark
1 cup peppermints, crushed
Red food coloring (optional)

Melt almond bark and then stir in peppermints. Add 1 or 2 drops of red food coloring. Mix well and spread on a foil-lined cookie sheet. Place in freezer for 20 minutes; break apart.
