Sunday Brunch -- French Toast Waffles

The other night I was watching Bobby Flay on TV and he was making brunch items and one of the things he was making was a PB&J French Toast Waffles, which made me think that we should have french toast for breakfast.

I picked up some fresh bread from the bakery at Super Target -- a pre-sliced Tuscon style loaf -- to go with our dinner once night and decided that I would take part of the leftovers for french toast.

This was easy and turned our french toast into something a bit different, plus G sometimes will not eat french toast but he loves waffles!

French Toast Waffles

4 eggs
splash of milk
vanilla (to taste)
cinnamon (to taste)
4-6 slices of bread

Heat waffle maker. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla & cinnamon. Soak bread until both sides have absorbed the egg mixture. Place on hot & greased waffle maker. (I have a round belgium style maker and two slices worked perfectly) Cook for 3-5 mintues until egg mixture is set on bread and it has toasted up.

Serve with your fave waffle toppings -- we had pancake syrup, butter & maple syrup but you can add fruit, peanut butter or jam as well.
