In April, I went to see my parents several times to help out while my Mom was getting over having surgery on her foot (she broke her ankle). While I was there over the long Easter weekend, we went to a new burger place for dinner. Now this place had really good burgers!! And the prices on everything were really good -- we got ice cream cones (Blue Bell ice cream) for under $2 for a double scoop!
Heff's Burgers is a cute little place in a strip center on Rebecca Lane. It is a casual place that when you walk in, you order at the counter and pick out a table or booth. They expanded to add more seating area recently. I hear that at lunch time it is super packed and it was busy the evening that we went.
Everyone really liked everything that they ordered. I loved the Jalapeno Cheddar buns -- the buns were sweet with a great flavor of jalapenos but not super spicey. Most of us ordered the cheese burgers on the jalapeno cheddar buns, the kids got grill cheese & a cheese burger and both ate them all up. My brother got the patty melt on the jalapeno cheddar bun and it looked amazing.
Prices are $6.95-7.95 for a combo meal -- combo meals include tots, home style fries or twister fries and a drink with your burger/sandwich. Kids meals are $2.95-4.95 and Ice Cream was $1.19 for a single scoop and $1.99 for a double scoop. They also have fried pies that looked really good (under $2 a piece).
I highly recommend Heff's Burgers in Abilene TX if you are in the area and are craving a great burger.
